For colored girls,

For Colored Girls, a film adapted from the 1975 stage play For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf. Such a heartwrenching story that covered so many issues – rape, racism, suicide, homosexuality, love, incest, abortion, STDs, abuse – through some of the most remarkable acting by an unforgettable cast. I loved how each character had a story of their own with so much depth and so much importance as an entire standalone issue, and how each story managed to intertwine perfectly with the rest of the stories with a great amount of fluidity. Simply put, I loved the movie, and for the two hours the film ran, I was captivated through every second that went by. Though numerous reviews praised the acting, the film as a whole was still panned in comparison to the original stage play. Having never watched the play, I guess that's why I wasn't able to find a fault in the movie. By far, one of Tyler Perry's finest work to date.

"You can't love somebody with that much hurt in them. I'm learning that more and more. I don't know what's wrong with me. My dependency on other human beings for love. I survive on intimacy, and tomorrow that's all I've got going. It's all I've got!"
